Dear Methacton Community,

My name is Dr. Shab Maffei. I am the new K-12 Career Counselor for the Methacton School District. I have been a school counselor in area school districts for the last seven years. Most recently, I served the Wilson School District as an Elementary School Counselor. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Temple University. I hold a Master of Science degree in School Counseling and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University. Both my husband and I are graduates of Methacton. We have five children who are very active in sports and one of our favorite hobbies to do together is ski!

I am eager and very excited to partner with Methacton School District community stakeholders to develop foundations for Career Readiness. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Skyview Upper Elementary School will host its 12th annual Career Day on Thursday, March 23, 2023 and we need your help! Career Day is an exciting school-wide event that builds career awareness and offers students an up-close and personal view of a wide range of jobs in and around our community. The presentations of our alumni, parents, friends and community members spark student interest and allow them to develop an understanding of the skills necessary for various professions.

We know our community is filled with many talented people who have interesting careers. If you, or someone you know, would like to share your career with our students, why you chose it, and the path you took to get there, we welcome you to sign-up and join us in inspiring our students by either completing the electronic volunteer form below.

On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, Arcola Intermediate School will host our annual STEAM Day, a school-wide event designed to promote the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, plus show how the Arts support STEM fields.

Arcola is in need of presenters who are willing to share information about their careers in an interactive manner with the goal of helping students see the connection between school and work and how STEAM subjects are integral to many careers. We would love to have your organization represented at our annual event.

Speakers can come for a half day or a full day of thirty-minute presentations to small groups of students.
