Review

The Making of a Navy SEAL is a true story about Brandon Webb and his career as a Navy Seal sniper. The book describes Brandon's early years and those experiences that led him to join the Navy. Brandon seeks the opportunity to become a SEAL and once he accomplishes the training it opens the doors for more specialized service. Brandon is picked to attend sniper training and becomes a member of SEAL Team 3. Brandon then deploys overseas to fight against terrorism in the hills of Afghanistan. Brandon survives his oversea tour and returns stateside. Brandon is then given the opportunity to re-vamp the sniper training for the Navy which included him training sniper heroes Chris Kyle and Marcus Luttrell.

In this book, I enjoyed the realistic description of his training and the fight overseas. I enjoy reading about military weapons and tactics and Webb accomplished this through his detail of military training using "plain english". Webb explained what military training he went through and why it was important. I found his description fascinating and understandable. This book leaves the reader with a sense of patriotism and appreciative of those who fight for our freedom.
