MMS Yearbook
Everyone has a favorite! It could be a favorite book, favorite movie, favorite tv show, favorite food, or even just a favorite color. We always seek to learn more about our middle school students by sending a survey out about their favorites. Added to this is an opportunity to vote for the 2020-2021 yearbook dedication. Each year students vote on the teacher who has an impact on their lives. After the votes are tallied we do a special page in the yearbook to highlight that teacher and all the amazing things he/she does for our school and community. Please encourage your student to fill out the following survey so we can get an idea of their favorites and so they can vote on this year's teacher dedication.
Parents, there is a photo submission opportunity on this form also! If possible, please take a school-appropriate photo of your child wearing or holding something related to one of their favorites! We are looking at new and unique ways to highlight them in the book this year. You may submit more than one photo of different favorites to give us more options!
What to submit: Pictures of your student wearing or holding something related to one of their favorites.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure the pictures only include Mooresville Middle School students. If you take a picture of your student during class, please make sure their Google Meet is not in the background. Pictures should include only your student or their siblings if they are MMS students. If you have any questions please email Mr. Cline at michaelcline@mgsd.k12.nc.us
Have you missed any of the previous submissions? Here are the previous ones below in case you have pictures you would like to submit.

Thank you for your help to make this year's yearbook successful!
Mindful Mondays
On Mondays, 7-12 students will have an “off class” from live instruction based on a scheduled rotation. Your teachers will tell you when your class will be off. You need to attend all other classes on Mondays. During your off class, choose an activity from the menu to help you start your week off right!
This Monday, students will not log into their social studies class.
Relationships Lesson 1- See the Risk
Last week, students completed Turbo Lesson 5- Get Organized, in their social studies class.
MMS is using the MAWI program to facilitate social and emotional lessons that are designed to help students build life-long coping skills.
MMS Athletic Update
Even with all of the rescheduling, basketball season was a success!
The varsity boys finished undefeated 10 - 0. The JV boys finished 9 - 1 and were named Co-Champs. The varsity girls finished 8 - 2 and the JV girls finished 5 - 2. Throughout the entire season we had great support from our cheerleaders and their parents.
The demand on the athletes, parents, and coaches due to Covid was incredible however everyone worked together to make for a successful season. Parent support was awesome and the coaches did an amazing job keeping the athletes socially distanced and masks on so we did not have any "Covid Pauses".
Everyone deserves a great deal of credit for making this season happen, especially the coaches.
Brandon Piper, Jordan Foushee, Evan Fosha, Jason Chambers, Theresa Jaroszewski coached the basketball teams. Kelli Greene and Sara Hensler coached cheerleading squad. Special thanks go to Felicia Davis and Damien Akelman for making our live streaming of games possible. We would also like to thank the parents who filmed for us.
This week has been the start of football and volleyball. We are in the process of completing tryouts, this is always a tough time for players, coaches, and parents.
This year we will only have one football team, a combination of 7th and 8th graders. This is due to the number of participants being down with the other schools in our conference. We plan on having 2 teams again next year. Spectators for football will be limited to 100 and parents can not travel to the away games. We will make every effort to live stream the games for those who can not attend.
Volleyball will have a JV and a Varsity team and like basketball, we will be limited to 25 spectators for each match. We will also live stream the volleyball matches.
