Let’s talk about Seasonal Allergies!

As many of you already know, seasonal allergies are really bad this year! It can be hard to differentiate between the common cold and allergies, so please check out Cold or Allergies? to help decipher what it is your child may be dealing with. Over the counter allergy medications may be the right choice if they are struggling with seasonal allergies as they will help your child feel more comfortable and ready to take on the school day!

Message from the Superintendent - Budget

As you know, we have been working on the school budget for months. Monday night, at the Town meeting, the recommended FY24 level-service budget of $22,745,577, which maintains current staffing and programming within the operational budget, was not funded.

The Town voters ultimately allocated $22, 229,735 + $65,000 = 22,294,735 to the school department. There was also an amount of $192,599 allocated to a special education stabilization account. The school department's operating budget for FY24 now has a gap of $450,842.

We are currently working on reductions to meet the $450,842 deficit.

Thank you to all those who have been working on supporting the schools through the budget process, especially the School Committee, who have been fantastic advocates for the school system. I will be sharing more as soon as possible.

On behalf of the Green Meadow Elementary School Building Committee, please use the link below to gain access to the project’s Schematic Design submission to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA). It’s this submission that is the root of the Project Scope & Budget Agreement that is forthcoming between the Town and the MSBA.

Bus Registration - Next Year

The online bus registration for the 2023-2024 school year will open on the morning of June 5th. More details will be sent to families by email before that date.

ANYONE who needs their student to take the bus MUST register this year, even if you receive the bus for free and/or live more than 2 miles from school.

** REGISTRATION IS ON A FIRST COME/FIRST SERVE - SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS **

BUS FEES
1st Child $270.00
2nd Child, 3rd, 4th each $220.00

Families may apply for a fee waiver in July.
