Mark's Monday Morning Memo
December 14, 2015
Last MMMM for 2015
Thank you for allowing me to share information through Mark's Monday Morning Memo this year. This is a tool I learned from another principal this past summer and wanted to use it to go into more depth about topics and information. Thank you for your attention and diligence in reading the MMMMs and providing feedback that these are helpful to you.
Thank You for Holiday Spirit
Thank you to colleagues who help make this season bright! From piano music in the hallway, to Secret Santas, to the staff social, to thank you cards being shared around the building, to Ugly Sweater Day, to the annual Nibble'n' Nosh, to music in the cafeteria, and to supporting our students and families with holiday gifts, these are acts of kindness and appreciation from people going above and beyond. I appreciate your efforts to lift spirits, share talents, spread holiday cheer, and make Rice Lake a great place to work.
When we started the school year, I communicated expectations for locking classroom doors at the end of the day and suggested classroom doors be locked whenever they were empty during the day. This provides a deterrent for students being in rooms alone and keeps school and personal items safe. Since the school break-ins our district experienced, our Safety Director recommends all schools adhere to the practice of locking doors at the end of the day and whenever rooms are empty during the day. If you need support with that, please see me. Thank you.
