Our Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball teams will be playing Newton at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Saturday, January 5, 2019 and we want you there! Live Streaming of Activities

Hi Everyone:

Happy New Year! And with the turn of the calendar to 2019 we are excited to announce that school events in the Knoxville High School Gym and KPAC will now be live streamed on the NFHS Network!

For a fee, customers can watch games in our gym on the NFHS Network live stream. In previous years, many schools used the High School Cube to live stream events for free, however the NFHS acquired the Cube several months ago. A couple of advantages of the NFHS Network is their camera is completely automated (no camera operator is needed) and home boys play-off games/events can be live streamed as well (the IHSAA which governs boys sports in Iowa is a partner with the NFHS Network, the IGHSAU which governs girls sports in Iowa is not).

Also, events we stream in KPAC (concerts, etc.) will be streamed for free (that's what we have been told by the NFHS Network). So, if you are wanting to watch basketball/wrestling/volleyball contests in our high school gym - you will need a subscription/account. If you have grandparents/siblings/other family/friends in another part of the country - here is a way for them to watch our events live!

Kindergarten

Kindergarten is the best place to be when Christmas is coming! We had so much fun getting ready for the holidays with our friends at school. We did a great job at our Christmas program, and spent lots of time learning new things through holiday-themed activities in the classroom. We had a Polar Express week, and the Conductor, Mr. Klein, punched all of our tickets to climb aboard! We went and sang for our friends at the nursing home, and ended our time before break with a school-wide viewing of Toy Story to celebrate all of the great choices we have been making at school. We are all safe, respectful, and responsible at West! Finally, we got to celebrate with our classroom family. We are so grateful to all of the parents and community members who donated to our West Giving Tree! We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone, as well as to the awesome PTO for organizing. As you can see in the bottom picture, we were super excited to open our classroom gifts! Thank you everyone, and we can’t wait to see what 2019 holds for us!
