Tennessee Valley Authority
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), was founded in May of 1933 as part of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal. This organization was created to provide navigation, food control, electricity generation, fertilizer manufacturing, and economic development to the Tennessee Valley. Today TVA is a $5 billion corporation. They are the nation's largest power corporation and provide more than 140 billion kilowatt-hours to 7.3 million people per year.
