Student Council Donations
We need your help! The SES StuCo representatives are creating a shoe tying challenge for the second grade students.
We are looking for donations of cardboard egg cartons and ribbon (enough for 68 students). Please send your donations to the main office. Thanks in advance for your help!
Sincerely,
Aaron, Lily, William, Brenna, Louis, Chase, John, Lilith, Xavier, Zeke and Colton
Report Cards
Today, your learner brought home their report cards in their backpack. Be sure to look for them and contact us if you have any questions or concerns
Mathematicians in Explorer Lapan's Grade 5 class
To complement student understanding of fractions and their equivalents, students in Ms. Lapan's Grade 5 class worked collaboratively to create a map of a river trail with key landmarks on it. They created a symbol for each feature while labeling both the fractional amounts on the trail and the kilometers. The landmark fractions were in terms of halves, thirds, fifths, sixths twelfths and fifteenths, while the length of the trail was 60 kilometers. Upon completion, the students did a "gallery walk" and provided feedback to each other.
Where's Roary?
During the 16 days of December, ask your SES learner where "Roary the Sheffield Lion" was hiding.
Friends of Sheffield (FOS)
Events and Fundraisers Survey
Friends of Sheffield needs your help planning the remainder of the school year. Please take a moment to take our quick 2 minute survey to let us know what events and/or fundraisers you'd be interested in participating in. The survey can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/365x2avc. Thank you in advance for your response!
Teacher & Staff Favorite Things
We love our Sheffield Pride and are always looking for ways to show the teachers and staff how much we appreciate their dedication to our kids. We sent them a questionnaire to find out their favorite things and wanted to share the results with you to help take away stress should you need ideas for gift-giving. Please be aware the gifts do not have to be presents you purchase. Your child can create drawings, stories or create other items to show appreciation for their teacher, and we know they will be cherished! You can view the survey results at the following link: FOS Meeting No meeting is held in the month of December. Our next meeting will be Monday, January 8th from 5:15-6:15 in the library.
