Summer 2014 Professional Learning
How will you grow?
There are still many opportunities to grow yet this summer in Wylie ISD!
"Professional Development isn't a 3-hour workshop, it's a career long process in which educators fine-tune their craft to meet student needs." (@sjunkins)
Still looking for some local sessions to collaborate with your peers and get a jump-start on the new school year?
Speed 21 Conference, August 6th - Join over 200 other Wylie ISD teachers to learn the latest and greatest about integrating instructional technology in the classroom!
K-8 Math and K-12 Science New Textbook Adoption Institute, August 7th - Sessions scheduled with the publishers to learn about the newly adopted textbooks and supplemental resources available!
Grade level and subject specific trainings - check out Workshop! https://eduphoria.wylieisd.net/wshop/
Remember:
- To meet the 2014-2015 contract requirement, 6 hours (1 day) of professional learning must be accounted for in your Workshop portfolio by January 16, 2015. Complete an additional 6 hours this summer for a total of 12 hours and you can have the MLK Holiday (January 19th, 2015) off with your students!
- Use the following Twitter hashtag to post what you are learning this summer! https://twitter.com/hashtag/wisdpd?src=hash
- If you will be attending any sessions at WEHS yet this summer, please park in the back parking lot and enter the building through the rear cafeteria doors. We need to leave parking spaces open in the front lot for students and parents visiting the campus over the summer.
- If you have additional questions about our summer professional learning program, please contact your campus principal/appraiser or the Staff Development Department:
