Third Grade Reading Guarantee

Third grade teachers will be sharing results of the fall assessment at conferences

Announcing the Third Grade Reading Guarantee 2022-2023 promotion scores

1/17/2023

State law requires the State Board of Education to annually increase the promotion score on Ohio’s State Test for grade 3 English language arts until it reaches proficient for the 2024-2025 school year. Accordingly, the State Board voted to raise the promotion score for grade 3 English language arts to 685 for the 2022-2023 school year. Any student who scores 685 or higher on the English language arts scaled score will be eligible for promotion to grade 4 at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.

In addition, the Ohio Department of Education has set the reading subscore alternative assessment score for Ohio’s State Test for grade 3 English language arts test at 47 for the 2022-2023 school year. Any student who scores 47 or higher on the reading subscore will be eligible for promotion to grade 4 at the end of the 2022-2023 school year, even if the student scores below 685 on Ohio’s State Test for grade 3 English language arts.

The Village has erected signs in front of the old building footprint regarding no parking. We invite our families who are picking up middle school/high school students to arrive at 3:00. Our car rider line is gone in front of the school. You may park in the lot closest to the footprint of the old building. Your child can walk along the yellow painted line, up our sidewalk, and into the parking lot. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Our PTO is offering a service to our families for the 2023-2024 school year. They provided our school supply lists from our current school year to a company that will box up grade-level items and ships them to the school. The link below will take you to the company's website. You may click on your child's current grade level to see what it would have cost for the service this year.
