Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is growing! If you know your child is missing something, please have them either ask their teacher to visit the Lost and Found (when they aren't missing important learning of course!) or come in during office hours to take a look. All items left after Wednesday, December 20th will be donated to a location organization to help those in need (as in the past).
We urge you to review the above information with your child to help them distinguish between bullying and a disagreement or conflict. Also, the People Problem Solving Star can be used anywhere in any situation! It's a great tool to use when your child brings up things that worry them in terms of peer conflicts...put it on your fridge as a reminder!
Peer Mediators
Congrats to the following students for being selected as Peer Mediators. Mrs. Schenck is working with them to provide them with the skills to help ALL our students out!
Allison M., Mia F., Irem Y., Emiliano O., Leyla C., Neel R., Camryn E., Olivia L.,Tyler A., Abraham K., Pearce G., Amilia S., Sangita Iyer, Kennedy Rana, Kaylee V., Ryan L., Zayne B.
PWCS English Language Classes - Winter/Spring 2023-2024
Want To Learn Or Improve Your English? The Prince William County Public Schools Adult Education Program offers English Language classes for adults in Prince William County, Manassas City, and Manassas Park City.
Classes begin in January and February. Class schedule information is coming soon. Register today or contact the Adult Education office for more information.
Please see the attached PDF document for more detailed information.
Winter Celebrations
We have had some inquires about Winter Celebrations. You should have heard from your child's teacher's Room Parent and/or your child's teacher. Please note that celebrations are staggered to ensure we have enough parking for those volunteering to help. Due to allergies, some classes or grade levels may have to restrict food to specific items or none at all depending on severity level.
Continuous Improvement Goal Area Reminder
As we discussed and will continue to discuss at Advisory Council meetings, our Continuous Improvement Plan was developed after a deep dive into our data from last school year (done in June 2023). We monitor this closely with defined actions and progress monitoring. Here are our goal areas:
Learning and Achievement for All
- English Language Learner and students receiving special education services in the area of reading success
- Students receiving special education services in the area of math success
Culture and Climate
- Equipping our students with tools to use when conflicts or bullying arise at school
Family and Community Engagement
- Continue to find new business/community partners to support our school goal areas
Our next Advisory Council meeting isn't until February per the bylaws, but if you have questions or comments, please reach out to me (baldwisl@pwcs.edu) to schedule a time to talk!
