Celebrating Each Other and AEW Feedback

A special thank you from Ms. Emerson to Ms. Donelan. Ms. Donelan picked up some extra Legos to add to her classroom, upon hearing Ms. Emerson comment on how much her class likes Legos and how she needed to grab a few herself, Ms. Donelan handed the Legos to Ms. Emerson. This small act of kindness towards a colleague meant so much. Thank you to Ms. Emerson for sharing.

  • Received about Ms. Cordasco:

Ms. Cordasco has totally changed my daughter’s outlook about coming to school as a 3rd grader. She is amazing!

  • Received about Ms. Spear:

Ms. Spear is an amazing teacher and has been wonderful for my son.

If you receive positive feedback or would like to publically acknowledge a colleague, please consider sharing.

ANNUAL BULLYING PREVENTION TRAINING

Board Policy and Superintendent's Rule 5580: Bullying, Cyberbullying, Harassment, or Intimidation requires that the Department of School Safety provide annual training for school staff to increase awareness of the prevalence, causes, and consequences of bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, and intimidation. This requirement is being met this year through an online Safe Schools training module. All employees are required to complete the online training by Friday, January 29, 2016. To access the training, staff may log onto http://www.bcps.md.safeschools.com. The course is entitled Bullying: Recognition & Response. In addition, all staff with BCPS e-mail accounts will receive an e-mail notice with the login instructions. After successful completion of the course and a quiz, employees can print a certificate of completion and turn it into Amy Billington.

As part of the monthly Leadership Development, each elementary school has been assigned to a STAT Cohort. During the November, STAT Cohort 3 meeting, which Stoneleigh is assigned, met at Bedford Elementary. Jen Dingle and I had the pleasure of getting in several classrooms. One of which was a 5th grade classroom where students were participating in an activity - Philosophical Chairs. I was so impressed by the students, I asked Christina Connelly if we could visit as a group to watch the 5th graders in action. The class is expecting us at 1:00PM. We will decide on transportation in the morning.
