Picture Day Orders Due This Thursday

Picture proofs arrived at the school recently. You should have received them in your child's Friday folder. If placing an order through the school, it must be turned in by this Thursday, February 25th!

(Those who were photographed on make-up picture day will receive their proofs at a later date.)

Upcoming Important Dates / Calendar Changes

The last opportunity to make changes to instructional method this year is by noon on March 5th. Students requesting a change at this time would begin the new method of instruction on March 22nd when we return from spring break. We remind parents that you are only allowed to make a change one time for the year. We also want to inform parents that the district does not intend to offer digital instruction for the 2021-2022 school year.

Also, please note the following changes to the district calendar:

April 5 - No School (The Monday after Easter)

May 20 - 1/2 day of school (The last day of school)

Read Across JSE

All students continue to read through the story of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. Most recently, Mrs. Frisby faced the challenge of needing to relocate her family from the garden, but not feeling able to do so since Timothy is ill. This is the point in the story where they meet the rats of NIMH. Be sure to ask your student to tell you about what they read each day!

Comprehension Question Winner

This week's Read Across JSE comprehension question winner was Annagrace D. from Mrs. Mullen's class. Congratulations and enjoy your prize!

Unicycle Club Update

Unicycle Club will now run from 2:50 - 3:40 (ten minutes later than before). Please make a note of this change if your student participates in Unicycle Club!

Inclement Weather

As winter continues, we may see snow and ice. If we have a weather event, please monitor the radio, television, social media, or MCS district website to look for delays or cancellations. Check for Maryville City Schools (not Blount County or Maryville Christian). The district’s automated messaging system will also send out phone calls and e-mails if there is any change to the schedule. If you have had any changes to your phone number, address, e-mail, or emergency contacts, please let the front office know ASAP. Thank you!
