Every Child, Every Day, Whatever It Takes
Principal's Welcome
Use el botón "Translate" para otro idioma
At Sterling Elementary, we consider our students and their families to be our family. We are thankful you share your child(ren) with us every day and work hard to serve their individual needs. You'll see that in our instructional practices within our classrooms as our teachers differentiate instruction to meet the specific needs of each student. Most classrooms have two certified teachers working jointly to serve all learners. We also value the expertise our families bring to the team. You know your child(ren) best and look forward to learning from you as well.
Also within our school building, you'll notice many student teachers/interns. Our school was selected several years ago as the only school in Loudoun to serve as the partner for George Mason University's Clinical Site. Their university students learn from our teachers as they complete their internship in their path to becoming a certified teacher.
There are many things to look forward to as the school year quickly approaches. Many of those details are listed below, so please read through carefully. As of Monday, students will be able to see their classroom teacher in StudentVUE and LCPSGo, and parents can see them in ParentVUE. If you need help activating your ParentVUE account, please call our main office at 571-434-4580 for assistance. We are happy to help you. Family involvement activities begin before the school year starts. See more details below. We hope to see you here soon! Student after school activities will also start very soon. One of our groups is pictured below as well.
I am honored to serve our Sterling community for the 10th year as Sterling Elementary's principal. It is my privilege to walk alongside you as we support your child in their learning. You can reach me most easily via email at jennifer.meresshort@lcps.org or Class Dojo (your child's teacher will invite you prior to the start of the year). You can also call me at 571-434-4580. Follow us on Twitter too (see photo below).
Sincerely,
Jennifer Short, Principal
