College Success Tips
Things I learned @ College
Laura told SHS students several important tips that she learned as a freshmen at the University of Dallas. Never be afraid to ask for help; be ready to adapt to unexpected situations; prioritize your health; manage your time wisely; and stay in touch with family and friends via short visits, text messages, Google Hangouts, or photos and letter writing.
Laura with Mrs. Liza Cantu
"I learned so much in AP English with Mrs. Cantu. As I was traveling through London and various places in Europe. I was able to think about Shakespeare and the great classic authors that she taught us about. I'm so grateful to her and my many wonderful SHS teachers!"
Mr. de la Fuente and Laura
"Mr. de la Fuente was my English teacher when I started at SHS. He had a great personality and made everyone feel right at home in his class. He still has the same awesome smile."
Laura and Mrs. Cruz, SHS Librarian
"I remember going to the BL Gray Library and meeting her for the first time. I've known her for so many years. Mrs. Cruz cares for her students past and present."
Laura and her SHS Counselor Mrs. Valdes
"She not only guided me she also was my brother's counselor. I appreciate all of the support she gave us."
