BUS CANCELLATION - ROUTE D
The ALPS Shuttle Bus will continue to run each day.
When we have bus cancellations it adds to the number of cars that we have at arrival and dismissal time, so things take a little longer than usual. Additionally, as you know, we have a limited number of parking spaces available for cars to park. Therefore, we strongly encourage everyone to use the carpool lane instead of parking your car and walking up to meet your student. There are many adults helping with the carpool lane, so we make sure that students are safe and get into the correct cars.
Thank you for your grace and understanding as the transportation department does their best to provide reliable and predictable transportation during this period of severe driver shortages.

Cookie Buffet
Dear Silver Springs families,
It is the time of year to provide sweet treats to our awesome staff. Our annual "Cookie Buffet" tradition is returning!
To make this event a success, we need your support! We need bakers, containers, and 2 volunteers to set up the "Cookie Buffet".
The cookie buffet will be on Wednesday, December 15th and all donations will need to be dropped off that morning.
Please help us sweeten up the holidays for our AMAZING staff.

Leader in Me Focus for the Month - Habit 2 Begin With the End in Mind
December At Home Activity
This month’s Habit: Habit 2 Begin With the End in Mind
Activity: Family Mission Statement
Due Date: December 17th
Please click the button below to access the activity. We would love to have you share your Family Mission Statement with us by December 17th, so we can proudly display our families practicing the 7-Habits at home!
Habit #2 Begin with the End in Mind- "I have a plan"
What this means: Have a mission, a clear sense of where you want to go. Think about the end first- how are you going to get there?
“I plan ahead and set goals.”
“I do things that have meaning and make a difference”
“I am important part of my classroom.”
“I look for ways to be a good citizen.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Write down your goals. It is said that "A goal not written is only a wish.”
2. Lay out your clothes for tomorrow the night before.
3. Write down 3 goals you want to accomplish.
Great Books for Habit #2 - Begin With the End in Mind
- The BFG by Roald Dahl
- When I Grow Up by Sean Covey
- Click Clack Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin
- Little Bunny on the Move by Peter McCarty
- The School Story by Andrew Clements
- Too Many Tamales by Gary Soto
- Plant a Kiss by Amy Krouse

Northville C.A.R.E.S Coming Attractions!!!
On December 16th at 7:00 Northville C.A.R.E.S will be showing a pre-taped student panel that some of our high school students participated in. Our students shared their thoughts on the pressures they face as they navigate through high school. Please contact Susan Johnson at johnsosu@northvilleschools.org or 248-344-3532 if you are interested in attending this virtual event.
As part of Northville C.A.R.E.S, we are happy to provide 2 opportunities for our families to view the movie Chasing Childhood. Chasing Childhood explores the pressures for families and children in a high achievement culture. Northville Youth Network and PTA are sponsoring this movie in the Northville High School Auditorium on:
