Believe...Growth Mindset for Student Success!
Our School Vision
Knight Vision: To share in the commitment of rigorous and high quality instruction to meet the needs of every child.
Our 2017-2018 school theme “Believe...Growth Mindset for Student Success!” is directly aligned with our continued vision and instructional expectations for Knight: to share in the commitment of rigorous and high quality instruction to meet the needs of every child.
Instructional Focus:
*Implement the AKS (Common Mini-Lessons and Assessments)
*Implement Authentic Literacy (Purposeful Reading, Writing, and Discussion)
*Implement Effective Instruction (Workshop Model/Gradual Release)
Knight Mission: To provide a positive, stimulating, and secure environment that empowers the individual to grow socially, emotionally and intellectually in order to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
Knight Belief: We believe all kids can learn…
…and we will establish high standards of learning that we expect all students to achieve. It is our job to create an environment in our classrooms that engages students in academic work that results in a high level of achievement. We are confident that with our support and help, students can master challenging curricula, and we expect them to do so. We are prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues, students and parents to achieve this shared educational purpose (DuFour, 1997a).
Highest Performing Reward School!!!
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) recently released the list of 2017-2018 Reward Schools. Knight Elementary has been named a Highest Performing Reward School! To be recognized as a Highest Performing School, a school ranks among the top 5% of all Title I schools in the State with the highest absolute performance over three years for the all-students group as measured by CCRPI. Congratulations to the Knight Elementary students, teachers, staff, parents and community for this recognition!
Thank you!!!
The theme for the last two weeks has definitely been “teamwork.” Thank you for being positive and flexible as schedules were revised as our 3rd-5th grade students were assessed. It is truly amazing to see how you all come together to ensure our students are able to perform at their very best. Let's keep the focus on our students as we continue to finish strong!
Our students will have another opportunity to demonstrate their learning on the upcoming DAs, SPGs, and GKIDS. I encourage you to lean in with your teams during planning time and create specific plans that will lead to student success on these assessments. Continue to teach with the same tenacity you have had all year. #OneMoreMonthOfLearning
Proud to be your Principal,
Toni
