January 25, 2021
The teachers continually work on capacity building to ensure high-quality instruction for our students. Our Staff Leadership Team (SLT) and I will attend a district Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Symposia. The SLT is comprised of at least one teacher from each grade level, and we will meet with other elementary and secondary schools in the district in February, March, and May.
The California Department of Education’s (CDE) definition of Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) provides a basis for understanding how California educators can work together to ensure equitable access and opportunity for all students to achieve the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). MTSS includes Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtI2) and additional, distinct philosophies and concepts.
The goal of the MTSS symposia is for site leadership teams to work together to:
Examine multiple data measures to decide who needs intervention and at what level.
Reflect on existing site-based interventions.
Continue to strengthen and expand interventions to support all students in achieving grade-level standards.
We will work in tandem with the symposia to build an MTSS structure at Alamo. I look forward to reporting on our progress.

Tri-Valley Dyslexia Support Group
They are a group of parents and educators coming together once a month to offer support, share ideas and resources, and empower each other as we experience the successes and challenges of raising a child with dyslexia.
This group is intended to be a safe place to regularly share what we are going through with others who understand or may have overcome a similar challenge and can offer insight or experience.
This group is parent-moderated, free, and hosted in partnership with the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs’ Special Needs Committee. We ask that you RSVP for meetings so we can ensure enough chairs and materials.
2nd Thursday evening of the month, 7:00-8:30 pm, September – May, unless otherwise noted.
