Running Club

We are so excited to bring Running Club back to our campus! Every Wednesday morning, the track will be open at 7:45 a.m. Students will be allowed to come on campus early to join Principal Emily on the track to start the day with some exercise. Don't like to run? No problem! You can walk, skip, dance...anything you would like just as long as you are moving! It's already Workout Wednesday, so we might as well take advantage of being in our athletic gear to get some steps in! Parents are welcome to join in the fun!

Running Club starts on Wednesday, September 29th, and will run through Thanksgiving Break.

Reading Pals is on our campus this year!

We are looking for volunteers to spend 1-hr a week reading with students on campus who just need a little extra dose of help to catch up this year. We have a reading center on campus and a very easy curriculum to use with the students- if you can read, you can help a student boost their confidence in reading! Join us today or perhaps you know of a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or friend that might enjoy volunteering 1 hr a week on campus. The program runs M-TH 8-10 am. Help us spread the word! This would be a perfect way to meet your Hooker Oak volunteer commitment!

To sign up visit: readingpalschico.org or email: lphizackerly@chicousd.org

Symptom Guide

Please review the Student Symptom Guide and be vigilant about completing a Daily Wellness Check for your child. DO NOT send your child to school if he/she exhibits ANY of the symptoms. If our staff becomes aware of any of these symptoms, we will call and ask that your child be picked up immediately.

Thank you for helping us keep our school open and our school community safe!

Parent Volunteer Vaccination Requirement

As you know, Hooker Oak thrives because of our amazing parent volunteers. We want to make sure that everyone has time to prepare for the new requirement that will go into effect on October 15th. All parent volunteers will be required to show proof of vaccination from COVID-19. If you have any questions about this requirement, please feel free to reach out to the school office.
