WSD BOARD MEETING REPORT

The Wentzville School District Board of Education held a meeting on Thursday, Aug. 25, that was live-streamed via the District YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting the WSD on YouTube. The agenda and available supporting documents can be viewed online under Public Access to BoardDocs.
Dr. Tormala, superintendent of schools, began the business portion of the meeting by providing comments and sharing District highlights. View the slideshow.
Jack Vernon from Holt High School was recognized as a member of the class of 2022. Dr. Ben Hebisen, former director of alternative & adaptive learning and current executive director of administrative services, said a few positive words about the new graduate!
Communications & Community Relations Program Evaluation
Brynne Cramer, Chief Communications Officer, presented the Communications & Community Relations program evaluation and highlighted the various efforts of the department last year to help share the WSD story.
Public Comment Electronic Sign-up Process
Starting in October, patrons who wish to speak at Board meetings will be able to find the sign-up sheet under the Board of Education tab of the District website. The electronic sign-up sheet for the Public Comment Period will be available up to 24 hours before the meeting and will close 30 minutes before the start of the open session meeting. Patrons may only sign up themselves to speak during the public comment portion of the Board meeting. Patrons may not substitute for a speaker who is not in attendance. Patrons may not give their time to another individual during their remarks. Patrons may not sign up more than once per board meeting.
If someone does not have internet access, there will be an opportunity to register at the Administrative Center during normal business hours, (no more than 24 hours prior to the meeting), as well as at the Board meeting location (one hour prior to open session).
