Face Covering Reminder

Parents, we need your help ensuring that your child is arriving at the bus stop or car rider line each morning with a face covering. We do have disposable masks for the occasional forgotten mask. However, we have started to see some student multiple times each week. Please help your child with getting out of the house with their mask and/or shield.

As a reminder, all 1st-5th grade students must have a face covering every day. PreK-Kinder students who ride the bus will also need their face covering every day. Masks are preferred over shields as they reduce the chance of needing to quarantine for close contact should someone in your child's classroom test positive for COVID-19.

Please remind your children of the expectation to wear face coverings at school. Students who cannot or will not wear a shield or mask during the times outlined for their grade in the Smart Start plan are not eligible for in-person learning. In-person learning is the preferred setting for most families. Please have this conversation with your child. Principals will be calling the family of any student who ignores staff reminders.

We have done an excellent job as a school community staying healthy. Your assistance with face coverings will help us to continue to maintain the health of our school.

Reminder of School Hours

Just a reminder, this year, school starts at 7:40am. Students who arrive after 7:45am are marked tardy. Students who are not in school at 9:00am are marked absent and need either a parent or doctor's note to excuse the day.

Daily In-Person Checklist

  1. Complete AT HOME self screening before getting on the bus or coming to school.
  2. Face coverings for all bus riders, and students in grades 1st-5th. Face coverings are strongly encouraged for PreK and Kinder. Remember wearing a face mask reduces your child's chance of having to quarantine for close contact.
  3. Bring your backpack including water bottle, snack, and lunchbox (if bringing lunch).

Veterans Day permission slips went home today! Return by 10/29!
