Highlights of 2013
2013 has been a busy year in the church library. The library has undergone many changes this year. One of these changes included using the library automation system. All circulation is now computer based using Concourse, which is our library automation system. Several other changes included weeding out dated and no longer in use materials including VHS tapes. Signs were added to the library for a more user friendly environment along with one computer for patron searches. Furniture that was no longer needed was removed for a more open environment to increase traffic flow.
Unnecessary furniture was removed to create a more open children's area where children are encourage to visit the library.
Signs were added throughout the library to help patrons with their browsing needs. Signs added include DVDs, Fiction, Nonfiction, Biography, Children, and Youth.
A seating area was added to encourage patrons to spend leisure time reading and visiting with others while in the library.
Circulation Statistic
1683 books have been circulated since May of 2013. (May of 2013 we started using the automation system.) Of these 1683 books, 1535 of these are fiction, 61 biographies, and 66 from the Religion section.
CBC Library currently has 7112 titles including reference material.
387 titles were added in 2013.
Goals for 2014
- Increase circulation
- Add all DVDs and audio material to the library automation system
- Encourage children and younger adults to use the library for their reading pleasure
- Increase circulation of non-fiction material
