Tally Rallies and Arrival/Dismissal
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day! This Friday is the first Talley Rally for parents. Originally, we divided the school in half for the rallies. Students were to attend every other week. Over the past couple of weeks, we have practiced the Talley Rally with all students and want to try and give it a go. Once we see how it is with parents/guardians this Friday, we will make the final decision on the format.
Please remember that there are only right turns in and out of the school parking lot during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. I appreciate every one's support with this. Have a great week!

Gifted Review
Important Information about Gifted Review
Each fall semester the gifted review team looks at existing student data to discuss students’ needs and to determine if further evaluation for possible gifted identification is needed. If you are interested in having the team discuss your child’s needs, you may complete a Recommendation for Review Form (found at the website below) and submit it to the Gifted Specialist at your child’s school by October 9th. No additional information is needed. The Gifted Specialist for Talley is Nicole Fiber and Stephanie Trauner. For more detailed information about the review process and to obtain a copy of the Recommendation for Review Form, please contact the Gifted Specialist for your school at Talley or visit the following website: https://www.csdecatur.net/Page/581.

Talley Street Band--Beginning Band Information
Decatur Strings Orchestra Program
It's not too late to Sign-up for Orchestra!
Intermediate Orchestra begins today but it' not too late to Sign-up. Any student (grades 3-5) who has taken the Beginning class or has had several months of private lessons is eligible. The class meets AFTER school on Mondays & Tuesdays each week from 2:50 - 3:30 beginning September 3rd. Sign-up here.
Beginning Orchestra will start the first week in October and is open to all students who would like to learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. (At this point, we have many violins sign-up and we ask students and their parents to consider the merits of learning the viola, cello, or bass so that we will have a balance of sound.) The class will meet BEFORE school, two days per week (schedule is still TBD) from 7:00 to 7:35am beginning the first week of October.
The participation fee for either orchestra ensemble is $160 for the full year. Need-based scholarships are available. For more information on instrument rentals or to sign-up, go to DecaturStrings.com or contact Program Coordinator, Nia Schooler at nia.schooler@DecaturStrings.com.
