"Notes to Note" Week 10

Great things going on at CMS!

Tutorials and Academic Enrichment are on Mondays & Tuesdays from 3:30 - 4:30pm. A snack will be provided for all students who are able to stay and work hard.

Teacher Websites are updated and ready for your view. Please take a moment to review what teachers are working with students on academically each Monday.

Absences & Tardies are impeding the success of students in the classroom. Please refrain from getting students to school late or picking them up early. We need and want all students at school each and every day. If your child(ren) are absent for any reason, please provide a doctor's note and or parent note in order to excuse the absence. Three or more unexcused absences will initiate the truancy process. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Rhonda Cook - Attendance Clerk.

2017 STAAR Expectations - If your child(ren) did not pass any section of the STAAR assessment last year, please encourage students to work on Reading, Math, Writing, Science, and or Social Studies skills through one of our online supplemental aids, such as Think Through Math and Compass Learning. Please contact teachers for links and additional information. Students also have access to this information as well.

Report cards were sent home with students on Thursday. If your child did not meet expectations in any subject, a copy of the report card was also mailed home.

Another outstanding Pep Rally at CMS on Thursday. Thank you to all participants, parents, families, and community members who attended. The support does not go unnoticed.

Students had a wonderful time on our school-wide field trip to CHS for the Pink Out Pep Rally on Friday. CMS students were excellent participants and won the CHS Spirit Stick, which was a lot of fun. A special Thank You to Mr. Drummond for his invitation and hospitality to our students, faculty, and staff!

Upcoming Events:

Monday, October 31st - CMS Halloween Fundraiser

All students may wear their Halloween Costumes to school along with a $3.00 cash donation. In wearing costumes, CMS faculty and staff must be able to identify all students at school. With that being said, no masks, weapons, or outfits shorter than finger-tip length. Again, costumes must be appropriate for school. Thank you in advance for adhering to our expectations so that all students can have fun, as well as be safe.

Thank you for being fantastic parents and families here at CMS. Our teachers and staff enjoy serving and working with you to make each student feel special, safe, and to perform at their highest potential. CMS Students & Parents are important to us at CMS and want you to know YOU are appreciated.

Have a wonderful weekend,
