The Ruins of Gorlan

By: John Flanagan

In the book The Ruins of Gorlan, there is a 15 year old boy that wants to be a hero like his father was. But the problem is that he was rejected into battle school so the mysterious ranger Halt took him to train.

In The Ruins of Gorlan the genre is action, adventure, and fantasy.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 star rating. It blends together action, adventure, and fantasy all into one fantastic novel. This book has many twists and turns that keep you hook into the reading. There is cliff hangs that make you want to not stop read. It also has some strong language. I would recommend this book to teenagers (13+) and young adults.
The Ruins of Gorlan reminds me of The Last Apprentice series, because it combines adventure and fantasy. It also adds cliff hangers that will make not want to stop reading.
