Westfield Arrow
Aiming to Keep You Informed
April 26, 2019
From the Office
Please join us tonight for the final performance of Shrek Jr. at 7pm! Admission is free & concessions will be sold. Enter through door 32. The cast and crew put on wonderful performances this morning for DuJardin & Erickson 5th graders, and this afternoon for the Westfield students and staff! We hope to see you tonight!
Drug Awareness Presentations
Yesterday, members of the LTM Foundation spoke to our students about the dangers of experimenting with drugs. We want to thank Felicia Miceli and Michael Wood for sharing their stories and advice with our students and staff. It was a powerful message and we hope that students gained some valuable insight into the risks of drug use and the power of addiction.
Arbor Day
In recognition of Arbor Day 2019, Bloomingdale Village officials joined a group of Westfield students and staff to plant a tree near the front sidewalk.
MAP Testing - next week
Students will complete Spring MAP testing on May 1st and May 2nd. Please remind students to get a good night's rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and to keep their chromebooks charged.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Attention Parents of 8th Graders: Just a reminder about 9th grade physicals
The Illinois State Board of Education in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Public Health require that all students entering 9th grade show proof of receiving mandated vaccinations, in addition to receiving a physical exam, and a dental exam. Please make certain that your child receives the required immunizations and that they are recorded on his/her immunization record. These completed requirements (vaccinations, physical exam, and dental exam) will ensure that your student will be ready to start high school in the fall of 2019.
The physical examination must be recorded on the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination form and dated within one year of the first day of school attendance for the 2019-2020 school year. (This form may be used in lieu of a sports physical form, but a sports physical form may not be used for the 9th grade mandated physical!) Physicians have the mandated form in their offices.
Please be aware that physicians’ offices are often busy during the summer months; be certain to book your appointment early!
