Bio (All About Me)
My education career began in 2003 and I have been teaching ever since then. After 10 years teaching in the classroom, I embarked on an exciting new adventure in 2014. I am the Dyslexia/Reading Specialist at Smith Elementary School in Magnolia ISD. I have taught Prekindergarten, Kindergarten and Second grade and now provide Dyslexia services. Experience teaching EC-2 has given me so many opportunities to challenge and meet my students' needs in reading, math and more. I have also continued my education by receiving my Masters in Reading and Literacy as of 2018. It is very rewarding to take these knowledge and skills to positively impact students' literacy and learning. Apart from educating, I was born and raised in Texas and earned my BA at the University of Texas Pan American. I am a wife and mother as well. My husband and I have three wonderful children, 12, 10 and 4 years old. We enjoy going to the movies, watching football and soccer, reading and taking trips. My hobbies include crafting, reading and watching movies.
I look forward to seeing my current students and meeting and getting to know my new students every year and hope to inspire and make a positive difference in their lives.
