The Week Ahead

Also, don't forget about the treats planned for you from Home & School and PTO. The schedule is on the office window and probably in the teacher's lounge.

Morning Prayer This Week

Jan 28-Feb 1: Catholic Schools Week

Each prayer this week will start with a quote from Pope Francis. The quote will be said, followed by the sign of the cross and the prayer.

1/28 Prayer for Catholic Schools

Pope Francis stated, “The individual act of faith finds its place within a community, with the common ‘we’ of the people who, in faith are like a single person.”

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit

Today we pray for all those in Catholic schools, that united they can bring forth the many gifts that God has given them to serve the school community and the community around them.

1/29 Prayer for Families

Pope Francis said, “The family remains the basic unit of society and the first school in which children learn the human, spiritual, and moral values which enable them to be a beacon of goodness, integrity, and justice in our communities.”

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit

Today we pray for families, that they may live as in the loving patronage of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. That they may together be rich in virtue and serve as a school of wisdom.

1/30 Prayer for Vocations

Pope Francis stated, “It is with great hope that all the baptized may experience the joy of belonging to the Church and rediscover that the Christian vocation, just like every particular vocation, is born from within the People of God, and is a gift of divine mercy. The Church is the house of mercy, and it is the “soil” where vocations take root, mature, and bear fruit.”

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit

Today we pray for vocations. That all the baptized be open to the vocation to which God calls them, so that their vocation can take root and grow.

1/31 Prayer for Teachers

Pope Francis said, “Our generation will show that it can rise to the promise found in each young person when we know how to give them space. This means that we have to create the material and spiritual conditions for their full development; to give them a solid basis on which to build their lives; to guarantee their safety and their education to be everything they can be…”

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit

Today we pray for teachers, who each day ask God to lead them so that they can help those they teach find their best selves in all aspects of their lives.

2/1 Prayer for Learners

Pope Francis stated, “Do not be satisfied with partial truths or reassuring illusion.” Rather than being afraid of the ways they might challenge us, the Pope encourages wrestling with new ideas. “Welcome an increasingly full comprehension of reality in your study...doing this requires the humility to listen, and a far-sighted vision.”

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit

Today we pray for our students that they can trust God to help them overcome the hurdles that life gives them so that nothing holds them back from learning and being the best they can be.

Mass on Wednesday

We have Mass at 9:30 on Wednesday.

Iowa Testing Presentation on Thursday

We will meet at 2:30 in the Media Center for a presentation from Iowa Testing on assessment.
