We had a good turn our for the February meeting. Happy Happy Happy. A reminder - be sure to notify Judy Perez if you are coming and if bringing a guest preferably by the cut off date which is usually the Thursday before the third Tuesday.

I want to thank Meletha Everett for bringing up Associate Membership and Student Membership in regards to the Standing Rules we were to vote on at the March meeting.

Associate Membership
National addresses this: “If you have met all the requirements of an Active Member, except you have not been paid for your work, you may qualify for an Associate ______________(Letters, Art or Music)
Membership. ————— Associate Members have all the privileges of Active Membership, except they may not hold National office, or that of Branch President or Vice-President.

Student Membership
A woman who is a citizen of the United States, currently obtaining an undergraduate or post-graduate degree from a recognized college or university, may apply for Student Membership. A student member has not yet met Active or Associate Member qualifications.
For more information see National’s “How to Join” on the web site.

So it’s back to the drawing board for the Standing Rules Committee. We will bring the revised version to a vote at the April meeting plus vote on a Budget for the new Pen Women year. This is in addition to voting on officers for the 2918-2019 year.

A reminder: March Inspirational Moment - Debby, Give A Hoot - Kat
No one signed up to bring Sweet Treats. Perhaps someone will volunteer.

A Message from our Treasurer

We have a few members who have not supplied me with information about themselves for our Member section of the website. You are not required to have a webpage, but it is nice to see what you do. Check the Member section here and see what is on your page. I am open to getting updates as well as new information. I have attached a PDF file as a sample format you can follow.

Thanks to all of you for your fellowship and happy meetings. I will also use this platform to beg for someone to take over the treasurer’s job. It is not hard, and I can supply Quicken for you to keep records, or you can easily just use Excel, or you can even handwrite everything. I WILL HELP YOU!

I’m about to embark on a very huge project in my studio, and many of you know that I am scheduled to show my Genesis Painting series at Dunedin Fine Arts Center in September. I hate to think about the massive reframing job ahead to bring all those old paintings up to snuff so the backing is not looking like a 10-year-old framed it. Yikes. I also have quite a few more paintings to complete to give them the 40 paintings they asked for. So... anyone? Treasurer? Please? -Gainor
