Upcoming Community Information Meetings Regarding the Bond Referendum
Upcoming meetings will be held via zoom on the dates listed below. These meetings will be informational meetings for parents and community members to attend to gain insight and knowledge regarding the upcoming bond vote on March 2nd, 2021 for the new elementary school!
Thursday, February 4th from 6 - 7 pm : virtually at Lincoln Elementary (zoom)
Tuesday, February 16th from 6 - 7 pm : virtually at Page Elementary (zoom)
Please remember to send students to school with appropriate warm-weather clothing including warm coats, hats and gloves/mittens. As a reminder, students will typically go outside for recess when the temperature & wind chill are above zero so students will need to dress appropriately. Please reach out to our school staff if you need assistance in getting winter clothing for your student.
Little Geologist in TK at Page have been studying rocks!
Students learned about the three types of rocks and have studied them in depth. They also created Sedimentary Rock Sandwiches to celebrate the end of Sedimentary week!
Kindergarteners have been busy! They love doing projects and learning how the world works!
Big thanks to the Boone Rotary Club! They donated 3 books to each of our second grade students. It’s great to have supportive community partners in Boone!
Elementary Donation Received
The Boone County Iowa Democrats completed a Martin Luther King Jr Service Day project and spread all donations out throughout schools within Boone County. This year they have graciously donated six pairs of snow boots, five pairs of heavy mittens, ten pairs of gloves, two packages disinfecting wipes, forty 2oz tubes of hand sanitizer and a $150 check! The district is thankful for all donations and such a giving community!
Congratulations to January’s Grill & Chill winners. These students have been recognized by their teachers for practicing high levels of social and emotional skills. Thank you for you’ your efforts! In 8 th grade – Shakira Cue, Peyton Hulse and Jenna Penner. In 7 th grade Jasmine Lopez and Levi Behn. In 6 th grade – Avery Howie and Kaylee Kuehl and in 5 th grade Anna Peebler and Jacey Hull. Again, Congratulations!! and thank you for being awesome examples of our Boone Middle School students.
Interested in signing up for Driver's Ed? With enough interest there will be a class held during spring break right here in Boone. Space is extremely limited so if it is something you are interested in please get signed up ASAP!
The last class of the school year for Driver’s Ed starts on March 29th. The classes that are offered during the school year this year have the flexibility to work at your own pace online. The students below are perfecting their skills during apprenticeship opportunities off campus! Thank you to all of our community partners for allowing our students to experience multiple different occupation opportunities.
A Message from The Boone Hope Foundation Board: Our organization is dedicated to supporting students, staff, and families within our school district community! We provide assistance in emergency type situations relating to shelter, food, clothing, medical, and transportation.
