Week 9 Reminders
and Celebrations Term 2 2021
St Emilie's Catholic Primary School

From the Principal
Hi everyone,
The day has finally arrived - it's DISCO DAY and the kids are excited and staff can hardly contain their excitement -
truly ruly! :)
Little moments like these are offered to contribute to the accumulation of happy memories your children have of their class and our school!
The wonderful P&F team have worked tirelessly to ensure that all details have been thought of to make the experience as enjoyable for children as possible, while also being respectful of the time of our hardworking staff at this very busy time in the term.
We sincerely thank Leanne and Jain who have done all the behind the scenes planning and also thank all the parents who have supported them in so many ways.
Please make sure you are clear about the practical details in regards to drive through times. These are set out again below.
If your kids want to sing our adapted version of LET IT GO over the weekend, here at the lyrics and link to the instrumental music. You may like to join in - nothing like a bit of singing to get all those feel good hormones racing around the body! :)
LET IT GLOW
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5r0i76VJqL8
The hall glows bright in the disco tonight
So many colours, to be seen
Fluro - light creations
And it feels so, like a dream.
Excitement building,
like a swirling storm inside
Can’t keep it in,
Heaven knows we’ve tried!
And Mrs C and Mrs G,
are the DJ’s, that we all love to see!
We feel, it’s real, just so you know
And now let’s glow!
Let it glow, let it glow
Can't hold it back any more
Let it glow, let it glow
Come away - away from that door!
We don't care,
what any others say
Let the dance rage on
Sore-feet never bothered us anyway!
Music
It's funny how these dance moves
make every-thing seem right
Any fears that once controlled us
can't get to us to-night!
It's time to see what we can do
To test the limits - and all of our dance moves
No right, no wrong, no rules for us
We’re free!
Let it glow, let it glow
We are one with the wind and sky
Let it glow, let it glow
Spread our wings and we will fly
Here we stand
and here we stay
Let the dance rage on
Music
Our dancing flurries through the air into the ground
Our souls are spiralling, cool moves are all around
And one thought crystallises like an icy blast
We’re going to dance all night,
We’ll make this disco last!
Let it glow, let it glow
We’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it glow, let it glow
We’ll dance until we’re gone!
Here we stand
on a Friday night
wait
And it’s time to go -
But endings, never bothered us anyway!

Semester One Reports 2021 (PP-Year 6)
Reports will be available on Tuesday 29th June after 3pm.
REMINDER 1
It is very important that you know how to access your child’s report.
Parents whose child in Pre-Primary is the eldest child, as well as all new families, would have received an email this week with information on how to set up your own SEQTA Engage account.
REMINDER 2
Reports for St Emilie’s students are only available online, through SEQTA Engage.
REMINDER 3
If you are having difficulty accessing your SEQTA Engage account please contact the Front Office by emailing
stemiliesadmin@cewa.edu.au and we will be happy to assist you.

We need 19 families ... can you help us please? :)
The St Emilie's Parish are running their major fundraiser for the year and they have asked us for our help to sell 19 books of tickets.
Each book has 20 tickets and each ticket is $5.00.
We would REALLY appreciate it if we could find 19 wonderful families who would be prepared to take a book and sell these tickets as soon as possible to neighbours, friends and workmates to support our parish.
Please contact the Office if you can help and we take a note of your details and send the book home.
THANK YOU!

As you will be aware this Government initiative encourages the community to recycle cans, bottles etc and receive a 10 cent refund.
If you are already doing this with your family - great! If however your family would like to support our school and direct some of your bottles and cans etc here, we would be very grateful!
Please see the poster below for more details.

Kindy Enrolments for 2022 - do you have a child starting Kindy next year?
If you have a child starting next year please ensure that you have completed an enrolment form. We still have some spaces so please spread the word!
Kindy enrolments are an exciting time for our school - we love to meet new families and touch base with our existing families!

Social Worker PARENT REFERRAL and CONSENT FORM
School social workers focus on the student in the school environment and work collaboratively with principals and teachers to minimise the impacts of personal, family and school difficulties and, where possible, remove any barriers to learning.
With students as their focus, school social workers provide consultancy, advice and support to principals, teachers and other school staff and to families so that they can best meet the needs of individual and groups of children and young people. There is a strong emphasis on individual student and family counselling and support. This is an amazing opportunity for kids, staff and families and one we have wanted in our school for some time.
Please find below the Parent Referral and Consent Form to access our School Social Worker.
You are asked to read the procedure carefully and also note that Kylie only works two days a week. While she will do her very best to accomodate all family referrals, patience may be required as she prioritises her case load and allows time for observation visits, classroom support and playground involvement.
