This week we...
- read Get The Egg and focused our review on short e sounds
- identified and discussed the beginning blends /fl/, /gr/, /gl/, /st/, /bl/, /cl/, /dr/
- continued to study different strategies for solving addition and subtraction equations
- discussed our new sight words: saw, tree, small, your
- reviewed what a main idea of a story is
- focused on our question of the week: Which wild animals live in your neighborhood?
- used the writing process to write our own realistic fiction story about neighborhood animals
- completed our unit on U.S. Symbols!
Fun in math centers
Luca worked hard in his math workbook making turn around facts
We used dominos to make addition turn around facts in math
Mila used a number line to help her count back to complete subtraction equations
Check out the some of the USA keynotes we made! We love our country!
We had a USA party where we shared our keynotes on zoom with 3rd grade! We had red, white and blue popsicles and we drew pictures of the symbols!!
We started I-ready math lessons to help us with fluency
Paw Print award winners for being kind, a technology helper and ask me person

Mila earned an award for First in math for trying her best!

What we will learn next week:
- We will start word study. We will have a pretest on Monday. Your child's list will come home on Monday in their seesaw! We will have an assessment on Friday.
- We will focus on words with short u sound in phonics
- We will read the nonfiction book Animal Park.
- We will work more word problems in math and for both addition and subtraction. We will have our topic 2 test on Thursday. A review will come home on Tuesday.
