Soledad High EL students took the Writing portion of the ELPAC test this past week. The Summative ELPAC is used to measure the skills of English Learners. The results will help tell the school or district if the student is ready to be reclassified as proficient in English. There are 4 task types tested (at the high school level) in the Writing section of the test: Describe a Picture, Write about an Experience, Write about Academic Information, and Justify an Opinion. The tasks allow students to show their abilities in writing English and have both a primary and secondary alignment to California English Language Development standards. Please continue to encourage our students to do their best as they complete the Speaking portion of the test. If you would like more information about the various task types please contact Melissa Armer at ext. 237
