Week at a Glance

January 19-23

Cooking is dangerous . . . at least when I am cooking! Each weekend I like to make a pot of soup so that I can eat it for lunch or supper throughout the week. Usually the soups I make include onions of some sort--minced, diced, or sliced. I must have been half asleep when cutting up onions yesterday as I sliced up my thumb pretty good. I hate that when that happens! I have it taped up right now as I am really not in the mood to have a stitch sewn in my finger. Let's hope it closes up on it's own! Then to add insult to injury, the silly onion was super juicy and it squirted juice all over my face and neck. Of course I washed that off right away, but I still feel I have on Eau de Onion. LOL Hopefully it will wear off before tomorrow!

Korynn is a former WC student and cadet taught at WC her senior year. She will be finishing up her degree in human services this spring, and she is currently a freelance writer for Hallmark. Her first day is tentatively set for this Wednesday.
  • PD SESSION: The PD session scheduled for this Thursday is for any staff member who uses Study Island. Lance will be providing some PD regarding the reports you can get and how to use them to inform instruction. Please bring your laptops to the session.
  • NEU BOOK STUDY: We will meet Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the MP room to review chapter 5. I know we have been skipping around in the book, but for the next several weeks, we will be reviewing the chapters in order. :-) Those presenting this week are: Faith, Nicole, Scott, Stephanie, and Brooke.
  • TRAIT OF THE MONTH: Just a reminder that the character trait of the month is responsibility. Please weave this into your daily interactions with students.
  • NEU CONVO: Our next NEU convo is scheduled for Friday, January 30 at 1:15 p.m. Our special guest speaker will be Olympic athelete Lloy Ball. Thanks, Beth B., for scheduling him for our monthly convo! Classes in charge of this month's convo are: 3-A, 3-J, and 5-N.
  • OFFICER PHIL PROGRAM: Our annual Officer Phil program will be this Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. Please have all students seated in the gym by 8:30 a.m. so that the presenter can get to the next school on time and Success can run on schedule. Thanks!
  • ALTERNATE SPECIALS FOR WEDNESDAY: Because of the Officer Phil program, let's make the following adjustments in specials: Erexson's art time to 9:00-10:00 a.m., Bollman's PE time to 1:05-1:30 p.m., and O'Neill's library time to 1:05-1:30 p.m.
  • SAFETY DRILL: Since we did not get to do the safety drill this past week, I have rescheduled it for this Thursday. We will do our fire drill first thing Tuesday morning.
