Graduation Information for Senior Class of 2021
Seniors have two last tasks for Ms. Fields before the end of the year:
1. Let us know where to send your final transcript. The list has already made the rounds through the English 4 and English 1302 classes but if you are a remote learner, or you have been absent, you may not have signed it. If you need to take care of this still, please see Mrs. Wahlenmeier so she can send your transcript after graduation. Being able to register for fall classes at your summer orientations may be delayed if you have not indicated where you need your final transcript to go.
2. Complete a Scholarship Recipient Form. Next week, you will have a chance to fill out a form for Ms. Fields letting her know what scholarship(s) you have been awarded, including GI Bill money if you are going in the military. Ms. Fields needs the form back by May 11th to include your information in the scholarship insert for the graduation program. (You should only put scholarships you are actually going to use, not offers you did not accept.) Ms. Fields will want the hard copy of the form returned so she can check off scholarships as she adds them to the insert. Do not email the form to her!
UIL Academic Scholarship Opportunity: If you are a graduating Brock HS student who participated on the UIL Academic team, including OAP, you are eligible to apply for the local UIL Academic Scholarship. See Mrs. Wilcox for more information.
Pictures for the Graduation Video DEADLINE IS May 10th
email ONE baby picture and ONE current picture to Bryce Yates at email@example.com
do NOT email the pictures to Mrs. Wilcox
Class Rings - If you are interested in ordering a class ring go to: https://www.herffjones.com/
Seniors should check their email regularly for new scholarships. Ms. Fields sends them directly to every seniors's school email address. Also, on the Brock High School page under the counselor tab, there is a link for all scholarships of which we are aware. We update the list as new applications for 2021 come in.
All library books are due now including books not returned from last spring.
All Chromebooks, cords, laptops, and calculators are all due now (if you are not using them for class). Monday, May 17, will be a technology return day. The 17th is the last date for students to have these items checked out so please return all technology and calculators to the library on that day.
Honors Banquet Information: As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted you to know that our Honors Ceremony will be held on May 17th at 6:00 pm in the BHS cafeteria. That evening, we will recognize our A and A/B Honor students (all grade levels), Top 10% Graduates and our 2021 Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Once Dual Credit grades are received this week from Weatherford College, we will be able to get with each student who qualifies for recognition that evening.
Academic/OAP Letter Jackets: If you have a student who qualifies for a letter jacket by participating in UIL Academics/One Act Play, please have him/her see Mrs. Wilcox to be added to the list for ordering a jacket. If a student already has a jacket, they are not allowed to order a second jacket. The students can either email Mrs. Wilcox at firstname.lastname@example.org or go by her classroom and sign up. She will have to verify that they qualify from one of the bullets below:
UIL Academics Letter jacket qualifications
o Score individual or team points at a regional academic meet
o Score individual or team points at two district meets (two different years)
o Compete in the district meet for three years.
Dual Credit Students
Students who plan to take online dual credit classes for the fall semester must register for the section numbers that are attached. These sections are designated for Brock students by the college. If your student has already registered for online classes and is not in one of these sections, please do an add/drop to get into the correct one. Copies of the section numbers are also available on the front counter in the BHS office.
