The Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be visiting the Mediaplex from March 7-March 15. Plan on stopping by to check out all the new titles Scholastic has to offer. MSD WARREN TOWNSHIP EXCEL PROGRAM FOR 2019-2020

Mission Statement: The EXCEL Program is designed to meet the unique academic and affective needs of highly talented students through a cooperative, enriched, and accelerated academic program where each person feels significant and appreciated.

The curriculum in the EXCEL program is differentiated and faster paced. Students will work above grade level.

EXCEL Parent Recommendation Form

The Parent Recommendation form must be completed by March 31, 2019.

Citizens Energy Group Free Chlorine Period

On Monday, March 11th, Citizens Energy Group will be converting the distribution systems residual disinfectant from free chlorine back to chloramines. It may take a few days for this change to be seen at some customer locations, depending on the location within the system.

Fall Sports Update

Spring sports are up and running! See below...


Boys and Girls Track


Practice for track is after school until 4:45 pm. Please have rides to door 3 no later than 5 pm.

There will be a parent meeting for track after practice on Tuesday, March 12, at 5 pm. Please come to hear from the coaches about the season. This will also be a great time to pay the track fees. Pride Pack forms went home last week on Wednesday. The best way is to pay online at https://squareup.com/store/cmstrack. ALL ORDERS ARE DUE BY 3 pm on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13.


Girls Tennis


Practice for girls tennis will be after school everyday until 5:30 pm.

There will be a parent meeting for girls tennis after practice on Tuesday, March 12, at 5 pm. Please come to hear from Coach Ramstorf about the season. This will also be a great time to pay all the tennis fees. Pride pack forms went home last week.

P.E. Uniforms For Sale at the Bookstore

The bookstore will be open every morning before school and during P.E. classes next week for students who still need to purchase P.E. uniforms. The cost is $20 and includes a shirt, shorts, and CMS string bag.

Indiana Senate Page Program

Did you know you can take a day off from school to serve as a page for the Indiana Senate? State Senator Aaron Freeman invites students in grades 6-12 to come to the Statehouse and spend an exciting day seeing our state government in action. You will have the opportunity to tour the Statehouse, meet Senator Freeman, and observe the legislative session from the Senate floor. Siblings and friends can sign up together, too! Breakfast Reminder

Sonny Day Community Center

The Warren Township Council of PTSs runs this pantry that provides food, toiletries, cleaning products, school supplies and gently used clothing to families of Warren Township students.

Parents/guardians need to get a signed letter from the school to go to Sonny Day. Please contact Mrs. Jones, school counselor, at 317-532-6800 ext. 6817.

How important is attendance for student success?

The single most important factor for student achievement and graduation vs dropout rate is student attendance (Reid, 2006). The state of Indiana with the new ESSA Plan has defined a student with "model attendance" as missing no more than 7 days of school. Anything over 7 days is defined by the state as "chronic abseentism." We have challenged our students to do even better than that and set a goal of missing no more than 5 days of school this year.


We do understand that there are situations that arise where an absence can't be prevented. Please help communicate those reasons to the school by calling the main line at 532-6800 between 6:00-7:00 a.m. to report the absence.


Excused Absences Include:

1. Personal illness or injury (please drop off physician's notes to front desk)

2. Death in the immediate family

3. Attendance at a family funeral

4. Religious observances required by church officials

5. Serving as a page in the legislature

6. Court appearance/court detention

7. Working at polls

21st Century Scholars

The Indiana 21st Century Scholarship Program is an early commitment college promise program funded by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE), offering income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana two-year and/or four-year higher education institution.



Students must be enrolled before June 30th of their 8th grade year.
