Christ Child Academy Newsletter
October 31, 2019
From the Desk of Mr. Ruedinger
We will have Mass tomorrow November 1 at 8:30 am for All Saint's Day Mass. All are welcome.
The first quarter ends on Friday, November 8 with report cards for grades 1 - 8 to be sent home on Thursday, November 14.
As the snow falls today and the temperatures drop, I wanted to remind parents to make sure children are prepared for the weather. Our policy is to go outside each recess unless the AccuWeather app RealFeel temp is below "0". Only students with snow pants AND winter boots may play on the grass or playground equipment with snow on the ground. Otherwise, students must stay on the blacktop portion of the playground during recess.
No Carrier today.

Vaping - What you need to know!
Vaping is not limited to high schoolers.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) found that in 2014, about 1 percent of middle school students reported smoking an e-cig. In 2018, that number soared to just over 4 percent. That means in a class of 25 middle schoolers, at least one is vaping.
In the same report, high school students had the highest reported rates of usage. In 2014, almost 8 percent reported using e-cigs but in 2018 that number more than doubled to a staggering 20 percent. That’s one out of every five high school students vaping.

Your generous gift to the Christ Child Academy Annual Fund makes a difference in the lives of our students. The funds raised will provide excellent academic and athletic programs, curriculum materials, and technology for both the students and staff; it will ensure the ability to carry out our school’s mission on a daily basis. Your gift will also enable us to maintain affordable tuition for all families.
You will be receiving an Annual Fund Contribution Form in the mail in November to donate or you may visit our online site at the link below. Feel free to share this link with all your friends and family via social media.

WINTER EXTRAVAGANZA 2020
Winter Extravaganza is set for Saturday, February 22, 2020 and will be held at the Village at 170, Kohler. We hope that everyone has this date marked on their calendars and are planning to attend. The event is open to the public, so gather your friends and family and get ready for a good time! We are looking for some additional people to join our planning committee. If you are interested, please email the Development Director at: molly.oehldrich@gmail.com
Invitations and Reservation forms will be sent home in the next carrier.
We are also looking for parents to assist the teaching staff in creating one of a kind "baskets" for our auction. Each grade will be creating a personalized themed basket and these parents would be in charge of assisting with ideas, gathering items, ordering supplies, setting up personalization time with the teacher, etc. If this sounds like something that you would be interested in, sign up before November 15th.
