Welcome Back!
Lincoln staff looks forward to a happy and healthy 2019 for all. Mrs. Knoeppel showcased our School lmprovement Plan at the Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Our work continues in the area of literacy with a Teacher Institute Day on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Lincoln teachers will analyze student data, set goals, and continue targeted professional development in the area of literacy in order to help all students improve their literacy skills. Our goals are to increase student accountable talk, improve the use of relevant academic vocabulary, and utilize sentence stems to foster student academic conversations independently. Also, the 5Essentials Survey is open. Please take some time and complete this survey to help us improve. Students in grades 4, 5 and 6 will be taking the survey this month.
Lincoln School Nurse Update
We are sad to say goodbye to Lincoln School Nurse, Ms. Anny Gonzalez. Lincoln appreciates all that Anny has done for our students, their families, and staff. Good luck, Anny! We welcome to our staff Ms. Dawn Plizga. Dawn's first day at Lincoln School as our school nurse will be January 14, 2019. Dawn comes to us from Saint Alexis Hospital and has subbed throughout our district. Welcome to Lincoln, Dawn!
Drop Off Item in Office Update
In order to decrease the amount of interruptions throughout the day in classrooms, please be aware of the following changes.
1. Items dropped off in the office will be stored in a designated office location. (Examples: Lunches, homework, water bottles, etc.)
2. An email will be sent to the classroom teacher for your child to come to the office to pick up the item.
3. Change of plans at the end of the day will be communicated to teachers 30 minutes before dismissal.
Thank you!
