Harbor Heights On the Horizon
2/1-2/5
This week will be our biggest transition yet as we welcome our 3-5 hybrid students who have chosen in-person learning for 2021. Additionally, We have added a K/1 and 1/2 class to create capacity for primary students who are new to the area or returning to in-person learning. For Orcas who will continue learning remotely, your new teacher should be in communication since updated class lists were shared at the end of last week.
This is a transition for all of us this week! Both Learning platforms at each grade level (staff and students) are impacted in the Thursday plan to add two primary classes and bring in all 3-5 Hybrid sections in the am and pm cohorts. All year Harbor Heights staff, students, and parents have worked hard to constantly adjust to changes. February 4th is hopefully the final big change to schedules, operations, bus routes, and class list changes. Thank you for your patience as we figure this out together.
A good summary of what is already in place and what changes occurred to make February 4th possible can be viewed in our most recent Community Chat recording below.

3-5 Hybrid and new K/1/2 students begin on Thursday, Feb 4th:
As we prepare for the return of in-person students, a couple of important notes:
Here is a brief slide show and our last Community Chat
For the AM cohort (9:00-11:30) we will hand out Orca signs on the first day at parent drop-off (8:40-9am) and pick-up (11:20-11:30). Please consider arriving a bit early for both the drop off and pick up times.
For our PM cohort (1:00-3:30), students will be transported by bus to and from school via updated Bus Routes for Harbor Heights
If you have any questions regarding transportation, check the PSD Transportation website or feel free to call our office at (253) 530-1800.
Parents, speak with your child(ren) about your family decision for 2nd trimester to help make this a smooth transition. Please call the office if you have any questions.
Here is a printable copy of the daily attestation form (if you wish to print 1 from home) or you can pick a handful up from in front of the school. This is especially important for bus riders, every student is required to turn in an attestation form EVERY day.
If a student is demonstrating any of the symptoms of the form, they will be sent home. Please keep your child at home if they are not feeling well.
