Message from Principal McMullen:
Dear Bulldog Families,
“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale” –Lauren DeStefano
The leaves are turning colors and beginning to fall which means that autumn is in the air and we are well into an exciting school year! With our first nine-weeks of school behind us, we are already seeing the growth and progress for many of our Bulldogs here at RJ!
The month of October highlights the importance of our school and family partnership. At RJ, we know that our success as a school community is directly linked to the support we receive from our parents/guardians and community partners. It is a great privilege to be able to work with and see your child’s progress on a daily basis, and we look forward to opportunities to share all that has been accomplished.
Thanks to RJ's wonderful many volunteers and the countless families who attended this year’s October Open House & Parent night that made it a great success! This participation and support is representative of our Bulldog community and deserves to be recognized and celebrated!! Thank you for joining us to showcase and celebrate your child's accomplishments and work.
Your continued involvement is key, please consider getting involved in our RJ PTO too; our next Parent Meeting & General PTO meeting will be held on October 20th at 6PM in library!
Please know it is always our desire to keep you informed of all events happening at RJ Richey and share the many celebrations that we see in our classrooms daily.
One great way to stay connected and find school and district resources is on our RJ website ( https://rjr.burnetcisd.net/). We also like to share events of the day through social media, we can be found on Facebook @https://www.facebook.com/rjrichey.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you ever need to connect with a teacher or administrator, we are here to partner with you in Crafting the Future!
In Bulldog Spirit, Pride, and Honor,
Jessica McMullen, RJR Elementary Principal

https://www.schoolcafe.com/BURNETCISDRJ Attendance Reminder:
Attendance Reminders:
- Checking students out early: Attendance regulations through the State and district require schools to track student's time in school....even after the attendance bell. ***Should you need to sign-your student out early during the day, please have your ID. All parents/guardians will be asked to sign your student out as we are required to track student attendance and parts of day out of school. We will be able to code and excuse your child's early checkout with a doctor's note returned the next day.
Transportation Change Information:
Daily Transportation Changes:
As a reminder, we are not able to change your child's transportation for the day through the front office or by emailing the school. However, if you need to change your child's way home, please complete the transportation request here:
Do you need to change your child's mode of transportation? Here's how!
Please go to https://www.burnetcisd.net/ , click on the Departments tab, then Transportation. In the upper right hand corner there is a link to change your child's method of transportation. This request must be made by 1:30pm. Please make sure you have included the the name of your child's teacher and only submit on the day you need the change made.
As a reminder, BCISD allows students to have one pickup location and one drop-off location for eligible bus riders. The email requesting a Transportation change does not override this guideline.
