Seek Excellence, Achieve Results

Principal's Message

We have three important weeks ahead of us. In just eight instructional days our students will begin ACP testing! As I tell our students, "they will show the world how smart they are and will have an opportunity to shine!!"

While there are many pressures associated with ACP and all standarized testing, let's remember that ACP stands for Assessment of Course Performance---

  1. Provides an important opportunity for us to gauge progress towards mastering our state mandated curriculum
  2. Provides an excellent opportunity for students to experience and grow accustomed to a formal testing environment before STAAR testing
  3. The scores will allow us to adjust our sails before STAAR assessments in order to see our students shine brighter than ever this spring
  4. We have set goals and have been working diligently to master them! It is time to see the fruits of our labor.

Lets make this testing and holiday season a positive and joyful one as we continue to work relentlessly towards our goals. I am a firm believer that hard work pays off. Thank you for working hard to make every instructional minute count!

A few notes and reminders--

  • Our "Share the Warmth" initiative is ongoing--embrace the spirit of the holidays by providing warmth to many special families in our community and donating hats, gloves and scarves. Please turn in donations to Mrs. Barron or any member of the Community Involvement Committee.

  • Teachers who signup for the 2015 ACP Fall Film Festival to view first semester tests will be able to wear jeans during ACP week--December 14th-18th. Please let Mrs. Ramos know if you attended.

  • The fall climate survey is currently available. All staff should receive an email with an individualized link. The survey is anonymous and helps guide our campus supports. In the spring 92% of staff members completed the survey, our goal is to have 100% participation by December 11th.
