Kindergarten News

Can you believe we are in the final weeks of kindergarten? This is always an exciting time of school for the kids with all the extra stuff going on, but it is also a very sad time for them, too. The thought of leaving the comfort of kindergarten can be scary and there were a few tears last week when I announced that their 8th grade buddies would soon be graduating and moving on to high school.

On Monday, June 6th, if you are free, please join us for our final MMO as we say goodbye to our wonderful 8th grade buddies. The kids have suggestions for what their buddies can be when they grow up. They'll also sing a song, present a gift and bless their buddies. This is one of my favorite assemblies of the year and a very emotional one, too.

You are also invited to join us for 8th grade graduation on Friday, June 10th in the church. The 8th graders love to see their buddies there. They even requested that our kindergartners process in with them for graduation Mass that morning.

For homework this week, please help your child write a letter to their 8th grade buddy. You'll find the template in the homework folder.

Language Arts

Our two featured letters this week are Ll and Ww and our star words are have and help. We have lots of fun packed into these final weeks of school, but also lots of work to do. Please pay close attention to the calendar and ask if you have any questions.

ZOO field trip--May 26th

We are looking forward to our trip to the zoo next week. Mrs. Smith is offering sack lunches that day if you are interested. The price is the same as regular hot lunch and is available for chaperones, too. Please pre-order by Monday, 5/23.

We have plenty of chaperones. THANK YOU! I purchased the tickets last week for the students and our pre-approved chaperones with funds from PTSA. Thanks!

Mikaila's birthday!

Mikaila is bringing pizza for lunch this Friday to celebrate her birthday! Your child is welcome to bing lunch from home or order hot lunch, if they'd rather.
