Teacher Appreciation Week
We are collecting handwritten notes from students and parents in appreciation of our outstanding teachers. We would love to hear how they are making a difference. Notes will be displayed on a bulletin board in the hallway. We will also accept typed and printed notes as well. Be sure to include the teacher's name and student/parent name on the letter. Let's show our teachers how much they matter to us!

BHS Spirit Store Now Open
Many of our 8th grade students and parents have asked about ordering BHS Spirit Wear. As we are all part of the BHS Tiger Community, we thought many of our students and parents may be interested in ordering BHS spirit wear to support our high school. The store will be open April 16-May 7. Purchases will be shipped directly to homes. To order, use this LINK or see the flyer information below.

BMS PALs Are Collecting Pop Tabs
Upcoming STAAR Testing Days
While the state removed the A-F Accountability labeling for Texas schools and districts, all students are expected to take the corresponding STAAR, STAAR Alternate, TELPAS and TELPAS Alternate assessments.
Since there is not a state option for taking a STAAR assessment from home, virtual learners are encouraged to come to campus on scheduled testing days to complete their assessments in a proctored and safe environment. Belton Middle School has developed a spring testing plan that will meet state and federal guidelines, while maintaining all public health protocols.
Please be assured that not participating in a STAAR assessment in grades 3-8 does not affect promotion or retention decisions.
Testing dates are listed below. Please join us in working toward your child’s success by making sure that he/she is in school for each of the testing days. The majority of our students will take STAAR online. Students with accommodations through 504 or special education may take a paper test. This is determined at 504 and ARD meetings.
STAAR Grades 6-8 Testing
Grade 8 Science Paper – May 6th Online – May 20th
Grade 8 Social Studies Paper – May 7th Online – May 21st
Grades 6-8 Math Paper – May 11th Online – May 25th

IMPORTANT REMINDER-students should bring their BISD issued device fully charged along with their charger to campus on their scheduled testing dates.
Please contact our testing coordinator, Sherry Grace, at sherry.grace@bisd.net if you have any questions.
