Butler Community College Manufacturing Day
On Wednesday, October 3rd, BCC will host an industry and program fair and will be taking students on a tour of their Automotive and Welding labs on the El Dorado campus. Lunch will be provided. Registration is required and can be done with Olivia at 316.218.6348.
Life University on October 10
1. Basic Banking 101 - How to set up personal banking, what to look for in a bank, and what are different options.
2. Basic Cooking Skills - Measurement tools and uses, principles of using a stove/oven, and more.
3. Basic First Aid - Learn about how to treat small cuts, bruises, burns, sprains, and other topics
4. Basic Sewing and More - Topics included are basic laundry care, how to take a measurement, basic sewing skills.
5. Bullying - Identifying true bullying behaviors and what to do if you are a bystander or the victim.
6. Dealing With Divorce - This session will include learning coping skills dealing with the family dynamics in a divorced home.
7. Expressive Arts & Emotional Resilience - Use the creative process to promote emotional growth and healing.
8. Healthy Relationships - Find out what healthy relationships (friendships and more) look like. Learn about toxic relationships.
9. Help! I’ve got a flat tire - Driving on a flat and the damage it can cause. What is a tire iron? Who are you going to call?
10. How to WOW a college selection committee - A panel discussion on what college admissions representatives are looking for on scholarships, programs, and admissions. What will set you apart?
11. Human Trafficking - Learn about what human trafficking is, the signs, and how to report.

19. Sexting/Cyberbullying & Digital Citizenship - Learning the laws regarding appropriate use of social media and texting. Learn how to be a responsible digital citizen.
20. Social Media & Marketing Yourself Positively - Is your social media bringing you down? Learn ways to spruce up your self image and your digital image.
21. Staying Healthy - Cold and flu season is coming. Learn strategies for staying healthy physically and emotionally.
22. Stress Management & Relaxation - Learn relaxation techniques.
23 Substance Abuse - Impact speaker will present real life experience dealing with substance abuse.
24. Support for Struggling Friends - Learn how to be supportive if a friend has struggled with suicidal thoughts.
25. Taxes & other Grownup Forms - What is a tax form and why is it important. W2’s and more forms required by the government.
26. Vehicle Preventative Care and Maintenance - Topics covered are oil changes, tire maintenance, batteries, spark plugs and more.
27. What is credit? - This session will address the basics of establishing credit, what is a credit score and good vs bad credit.
28. Yoga - Learning the basics of yoga. Dress comfortably.

West Point Academy- September 20
Todd Esh, the Field Force Representative for West Point Military Academy, is responsible for assisting students in the Wichita area during the application process. He will be bringing one of the Admissions Officers from West Point, Captain Maurice Kenner, to the Wichita area on September 20th to host an Admissions Meeting at 7:00PM at Trinity Academy. FAFSA Finish Line Event
On October 6, 2018, we will be hosting yet another FAFSA Finish Line event, for completion of the 2019-2020 FAFSA, to encourage students to complete their FAFSA and beat the December 1 priority deadline here at Wichita State. The event details are as follows:
· Location: WSU Experiential Engineering Building (signage available around facility)
· Time: 9 am – 12 pm
What Is Needed for the Event
· Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID – can be created at fsaid.ed.gov prior to the event
o Each student and at least 1 parent will need to create an FSA ID
o Parents without an SSN cannot create an FSA ID. That’s OK! We can help them print the FAFSA signature page, and they can turn it into our office for processing as long as Wichita State is the school they’ve selected to attend and receive the application.
· SSN or Alien registration number
· 2017 Federal tax Information/ tax returns and all income documents
· 2017 Records of untaxed income
Please have your students RSVP here for the event by September 10, 2018. This will give us time to finalize other event details.
