Reality Day!
Reality Day
Reality Day is designed for our 8th graders to get a glimpse into the real world in regards to managing their finances and starting to think about their future careers. On Friday,in the morning, students participated in an event called Mad City Money, a program in which students assume the responsibilities of adulthood including buying a house, paying bills, and running a family, all while maintaining a budget. Students also attended several other stations throughout the morning that helped foster their future vocational vision. Students had a lot of fun along the way and learned some valuable lessons.
In the afternoon, students listened to guest speakers talk about their occupations in individual classrooms. From premier chefs to elephant trainers, students were treated to an array of first-hand career experiences.

Making Memories!
Music in the Parks
On Saturday, May 7, many students in the CMS Performing Arts attended Music in the Parks at Cedar Point. Here are the results from their performances:
- Show choir, select choir and jazz band all received "excellent" ratings
- Chamber strings received "superior" rating
- All 4 groups received 1st place in their divisions
- Chamber strings also placed first among all string orchestra groups
I am so proud of our students and staff and the work they put in to being the best they can be in their performance area. I often brag about our choir, band and orchestra to anyone who will listen!
