Primary PTO Press

September 2023

September is here, and we are excited about all that is happening at Oconee County Primary School. Our No Fuss Fundraiser is wrapping up, and we are on the way to reaching our goal. Please make sure you have looked at all the opportunities we have to volunteer this year. There is something for everyone! Also, please be sure to complete the volunteer training online if you missed the meeting in August.

Happy September!

Training for Volunteers

In order to volunteer at OCPS throughout the school year (including Field Day), you must complete the volunteer training. If you did not attend the in person session then the volunteer training can also be completed online here.

No Fuss Fundraiser

The deadline for contributing to our annual fundraiser is this Friday, September 8th. Please donate online below. We plan to have our school-wide celebration on Friday, September 15th. If we meet the goal of $25,000, Mrs. Hilley and Mrs. Dalton will be pied in the face and we'll have a special guest from the Super Mario Brothers movie!

Did your child's class reach their goal? Make sure to ask your child or his/her teacher!

Class parties are scheduled and we will also have a Picnic with the Principals for students who donated $100 or more on Friday, September 15th.

Dads on Duty

Looking for an easy way to volunteer before work? Dads on Duty is an excellent opportunity to give back to OCPS. We are looking for dads, uncles, grandfathers, or any positive male role model in your student's life. Call your buddies and volunteer together! This is a great chance to get involved and make an impact.

Fall Festival Save the Date

Save the Date for the OCPS Fall Festival on Friday, October 20 from 5-7pm! We will have TONS of games, activities, animals, discovery, food trucks, and so many more surprises!

Wanting to have lunch with your child?

If you are wanting to have lunch with your child, there are several places you can sit. Check with your child's teacher or call the front office to make sure of the exact time your child eats. As fall weather approaches, take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy some time outside with your child!

International Dot Day

The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing. International Dot Day encourages people of all ages to harness their creativity. We will be decorating the school and celebrating International Dot Day on Friday, September 15. Please look for additional information coming home from your child's teacher regarding this day.

National Arts in Education Week September 11-15

We would like to show appreciation to Mrs. Brimanson, our fabulous art teacher for all the hard work she does daily for our school. National Arts in Education week recognizes the impact of arts education and how it equips young people to succeed in all areas of life. Take a moment next week to let Mrs. Brimanson know how much you appreciate her!

National IT Professionals Day

September 19th is IT Professionals Day. We would like to thank Erin Bowen and Jacob Warrington for all of his hard work helping the staff and our little ones with all of their IT needs! Please show them appreciation as you see them around the building.

Ice Cream Volunteers

We need your help! Shifts are only for 40 minutes. If you are interested, please click HERE to sign up. Do not forget to complete the volunteer training mentioned above prior to your shift. Please email littlechiefspto@gmail.com if you have any questions.
