National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week
The week of May 1st to the 7th is a time to bring national awareness to the issue of children's mental health. People are encouraged to wear a green ribbon to show their support and to raise awareness for those dealing with various mental health illnesses. Asian Heritage Month
May is recognized as Asian Heritage Month in Canada. According to the board's site, this is a time "to help students deepen their understanding of the culture and heritage of our diverse Asian community". The board has placed a link (AHM) on our My Site log in page with related resources. There is a display in the library with related resources available for check out.
Mother's Day - May 8th
We have a variety of books related to Mother's Day on display in the library available for check out.
Butterflies
Our Painted Lady butterfly larvae are scheduled to arrive the first week of May. They will be on display in the library and classes are encouraged to visit and observe the first stages of their life cycle.
EQAO - May 25th to June 7th
The grade 3's will be writing the EQAO assessment beginning May 25th. The library and learning commons will need to be closed during certain periods to accommodate any students who require assistive technology to complete the assessment. Please refer to the room booking system to see when these learning spaces will be closed.
