Prayer
There is a need for a – “A Culture of Care as a Path to Peace” –
“... while we hope for new beginnings and new cures, let us not neglect care, …
Together with a vaccine for our bodies, we need a vaccine for our hearts.
That vaccine is care, ...
This will be a good year if we take care of others, as Our Lady does with us, ...
The Lord knows how much we need to be blessed, ...
The first thing he did after creating the world was to say that everything was good and to say of us that we were very good, ...
With the birth of Jesus, we receive not only words of blessing, but the blessing itself:
Jesus is himself the blessing of the Father...
Every time we open our hearts to Jesus, God’s blessing enters our lives,...
we, too, are called to bless, to speak well in God’s name.”
Pope Francis

Special Annoucement ... Teaching Staff
Dear Parents / Guardians
Please note that Miss Salisbury’s contract ends with us at the end of January. She is the teacher of "2S" class. Her last day with her class will be January 28th. Miss Salisbury has been a great source of joy in the school, and her commitment to her students is well noted. She will be very much missed by both her students and staff.
Mrs. LaRose, will be returning to Madonna on January 31st to greet the "2S" class on Feb.1. She has taught grade 2 at Madonna for a number of years and we look forward to her return. Her students will greatly benefit from her teaching and guidance. Please welcome back, Mrs. LaRose!
Thank you,

Mr. D Drives Bus 45 ... AWARDS
EICS has nominated Mr. D as the Student Transportation Association of Alberta 2021 Driver of the Year
“Derek Douglas has held several hats in his lifetime. We were
blessed to have him join our team in 1995. He enjoys interacting
with the students on the bus and gets to know each and every one of
them personally. Staff, parents, and students all know him and refer
to him as “Mr. D”. Derek is especially known for his “special ties”.
He is always dressed to impressed and seems to have a themed tie
for every occasion, including Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St.
Patrick’s day, etc. He even dresses up in costumes for Halloween.
Each year his students wait in anticipation for what creative costume
he will come up with next. Derek deals with his students in a humble
and compassionate manner, and this has led to him becoming a
mentor and confidant for other drivers to speak to and lean on. Derek
is dependable, reliable, always willing to learn new things, full of
stories, and always happy and attentive. He is an asset to our team,
and we are thrilled to put his name forward for Driver of the Year
2021!”
Moreover, Mr. D Derek was a FIFA referee and has always been involved in the
community. He was recently added to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.
Way to Go .... Mr. D!
