A Message from Principal Choquette 10/25/19
Good afternoon, I hope you all were able to meet with your child's teacher for conferences this week. If for some reason you could not make it, please contact your child's teacher to discuss their progress.
I'd like to welcome two new hires, Owen Aptekar-Cassels has been hired as an esp in the preschool and Bertha Thorman has been hired as an esp in prek and in K-5. Welcome to both of you!
You should have all received the Harvest Week flyer. Thank you to Miss Liz for organizing our week and the culminating feast! The festivities begin on Monday with Be Green, Eat Green, and Wear Green, Tuesday is Dress Like A Scarecrow Day, and Wednesday is Celebrate Pollinator's Day-dress like a bee or a flower or in yellow and black or floral. It all ends with a feast on Wednesday in the garden at Historic Northampton from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Please see the attached flyer.
We are having some problems again with Pokemon cards. Pokemon cards are not allowed at school unless a student is in the BASE program, then the cards can come to school on that day for the after school program only. Over the years we have had issues with kids trading, then getting very upset about trading, kids are taking them from other kids, and they are getting destroyed or lost. Please speak to your children about the cards. They will be taken from them and kept in the office if they are brought to school. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
A Halloween Reminder: Please be advised that if students plan on wearing costumes to school they are not allowed to wear face masks, bring any type of toy weapon to school, or wear fake blood. Also, costumes can get torn or ruined at recess time.
Finally, for those 4th and 5th grade students who signed up for the SASH program. It begins on Tuesday the 29th at 3:05 p.m. in Ms. Daniels room.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
A Word About Gymnatstics
I'd like to again express how proud I am of our students advocating in a respectful manner for something that they love to do. I appreciate them, student voice is so important, and sometimes we just have to sit back and listen.
