SIXTH FORM

FROM THE HEADS OF SIXTH FORM

We hope everyone has had a restful Christmas and a good start to the New Year. The students are well aware that they should be working hard towards their mock A Level exams, to take place in the week after half term. Reports are being finalised and will be sent home at the end of next week. One-to-one mentoring sessions will then take place for all students to review their report and set targets.

SWIMARATHON THIS SATURDAY

Sixth Form have two willing teams, one from each year group, ready to take on the challenge this Saturday at the Magnet Leisure Centre, to raise money for the Lions Club.

Year 12 and Year 13 are swimming at 6pm (but meeting at The Magnet at 5.30pm).

If you are not swimming please support your year team by sponsoring them generously. Supporters are very welcome to come along to cheer our teams on.

CHARITY WORK

Maidenhead Foodshare were delighted with the cheque sent from the Christmas collection. A member of their team is coming in to our Sixth Form assembly on 22 January 2016 to talk about their work in the local community. The Lions Club have expressed their gratitude to students and staff who packed hampers and 'fetched and carried' the food parcels before Christmas. They have made out a cheque for £200 to a charity of our choice (Foodshare) and we will be presenting this to their representative (Mrs Sue Brett) when she comes in on 22 January. A big thank you to all students and members of staff who gave up their time on Sunday 13 December 2015 to help.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

Everyone had a wonderful evening and staff were happy to observe that behaviour was beyond reproach. If there had been prizes for best cotumes staff feel that Mai as a mime artist, Flora as Flora margarine, Charlie as a crayon, Jordan as Capt Jack Sparrow, Will F as Willie Wonka, Will T as 'Where's Wally?' and finally Andy the Aussie were all very good. Thank you to Mr Crawley and the social committee for organising the event.

EMERGENCY CLOSURE

At this time of year, the weather is not always predictable, and bad weather can often affect the daily routine. Please refer to the updated Emergency Closure Guidance for full information. A reminder that initial contact will be via text message and supporting email from the School. Please ensure you keep your contact details up-to-date at this time.
